My time slot was 1.30, Document verification completed around 2.30 then Interview started at 4.00. There were 4 members including one female. I wish them all, they offered seat I thanked them.
M1: So akhiljith what is the meaning of your name?
Me: Answered
M1: Tell me about you, your family, ambition, hobby, why you want to join a bank after mtech?
Me:(I had already prepared these questions but while he asked all questions in a single one, it may have went to a big essay. So I can't well explained as per my preparation but answered well in short for all questions)
M1: Did you go for any coaching?
Me: No sir, I completed mtech in 2016 and I prepared my self.
M1: Why have you prefered Bank of India (BOI) on top?
Me: Answerd
M1: What is the symbol of bank of india?
Me: I was confused, I said BOI, they helped me (not like that, they pointed out the symbol of Canara Bank in the door its a two triangle crossed something)
Me: I can't recollect the symbol, so I said sorry sir I don't know but I know the tag line of BOI - its relationship beyond banking. (He was almost satisfied)
M2: Started asking about budget...mention the most important point of budget.
Me: Answered about the tax reduction.
M2: Tag line of this budget?
Me: I said lot of important things in budget.
M2: Yeah, it's ok but what is 3 word tagline of the entire budget?
Me: (I have read that but I don't remember the exact words) I said sir one is clean (yeah he encouraged me) and infrastructure boosting and third one I don't remember sir.
M2: He said the third one is skill.
Me: I thanked him for that information.
M2: Budget allocation for security committee is increased to 10 times, what u know about that?
Me: (actually I didn't heard about that) So I said sir, I don't know much about security committee but the defence sector provision is increased to 10 times.    
M2: Yeah but also provision for security committee. Do u know who is the head?
Me: Ajith dowel.
M2: He asked about banks role other than basic functions of bank?
Me: Answered about all bank functions, then explained other roles like priority sector lending etc. (he was satisfied)
M3: He asked about a money policy similar to that of demonitisation.
Me: I first said I don't know sir....then I remembered the demonitisation of old notes printed before 2005. So, I answered.
M3: From which date to date notes are withdrawn?
Me: Sorry sir, I don't know exactly its old note upto 2005.
M3: How banks incurred loss?
Me: Bad loans, NPA.
M3: What other than lending?
Me: I was confused, then said about the banks investment and PSB have more social commitment so every activity is not profit based etc.
M3: About narrow banking and universal banking.
Me: I answerd well
F1: She asked about digital india?
Me: Answered well....
M1: Ok akhil, take one chocolate!
Me: I said thank you sir, other member too said me to took chocolate - I took one and thanked everyone and went out.
It was a good experience...panels are different in approach some panels mainly focused about personal questions, my panel was more in banking. If you are prepared for 100 words there you can only said 50 due to tension but don't worry most of them are performing this way. Practice well in front of a mirror and always remember that you are the best and this job is for you.

Notes on Input & Output Devices

As you know Computer is very important section to get a good score for Bank Exam.Today we are covering the study material on Input & Output,that will help you succeed in the upcoming exam.
Input Devices (How to tell it what to do): This unit makes link between user and computer. The input devices translate the information into the form understandable by computer.
  • Keyboard- The most common and very popular input device which helps in inputting data to the computer
  • Mouse- Mouse is the most popular pointing device and cursor-control device having a small palm size box with a round ball at its base which senses the movement of mouse and sends corresponding signals to CPU when the mouse buttons are pressed.
  • Joy Stick- To move cursor position on a monitor screen. It is mainly used in Computer Aided Designing (CAD) and playing computer games.
  • Light pen- It is used to select a displayed menu item or draw pictures on the monitor screen.
  • Track Ball- Mostly used in notebook or laptop computer, instead of a mouse .This is a ball which is half inserted and by moving fingers on ball, pointer can be moved
  • Scanner- A scanner allows you to scan printed material and convert it into a file format that may be used within the PC.
  • Digitizer- It converts analog information into digital form.
  • Microphone-Microphone is an input device to input sound that is then stored in digital form.
  • Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR)- MICR input device is generally used in banks because of a large number of check to be processed every day.
  • Optical character recognition (OCR)- OCR scans text optically character by character, converts
Output Devices: (How it shows you what it is doing) Output devices translate the computer's output into the form understandable by users.
Monitors: Monitors, commonly called as Visual Display Unit (VDU) are the main output device of a computer. It forms images from tiny dots, called pixels that are arranged in a rectangular form. The sharpness of the image depends upon the number of pixels.
There are two kinds of viewing screen used for monitors.
  • Cathode-Ray Tube (CRT): The CRT display is made up of small picture elements called pixels. The smaller the pixels, the better the image clarity, or resolution
  • Flat- Panel Display: The flat-panel display refers to a class of video devices that have reduced volume, weight and power requirement in comparison to the CRT.
Printer: Printer is an output device, which is used to print information on paper.
  • Impact Printers: The impact printers print the characters by striking them on the ribbon which is then pressed on the paper.
  • Non-Impact Printers: Non-impact printers print the characters without using ribbon. These printers print a complete page at a time so they are also called as Page Printers. Laser Printers, Inkjet Printers.

 On 1st February 2017, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley presented his fourth annual Union Budget in the parliament. The Railways budget merged with Union Budget, for the first time in the Indian history.

Here are the highlights of this year's budget.
1. Budget 2017-18 contains 3 major reforms.
  • First, presentation of Budget advanced to 1st February to enable the Ministries to operationalize all activities from the commencement of the financial year.
  •   Second, merger of Railways Budget with General Budget to bring Railways to the centre stage of Government’s Fiscal Policy. 
  •  Third, removal of plan and nonplan classification of expenditure to facilitate a holistic view of allocations for sectors and ministries.

  •   Telecom sector: 
  •  BharatNet Project has been raised up to Rs.10000 crores. 
  •  High speed broadband connectivity on optical fiber will be available in more than 150000 gram panchayats, with wifi hot spots and access to digital services at low tariffs. 
  •  155000 kms of Optical Fiber Cables have been laid.
  •   A DigiGaon initiative will be launched to provide tele-medicine, education and skills through digital technology.
  • Energy sector:
  •   set up Strategic Crude Oil Reserves. 
  •  A new and restructured Central scheme, namely, Trade Infrastructure for Export Scheme (TIES) will be launched in 2017-18 to focus on export infrastructure in a competitive world.
  •   Caverns will be set up at 2 more locations, Chandikhole (Odisha) and Bikaner(Rajasthan) in the second phase. 
  •  Second phase of Solar Park development was also proposed to be taken up for additional 20000 MW capacity.

SSC MTS Exam 2017: Selection Process

Step I: Candidates will be shortlisted for the Paper-II on the basis of their performance in Paper-I.
Step II: Paper-II will only of qualifying nature. The cut-offs in Paper-I and qualifying marks in Paper-II may be different for vacancies in each State/UT will be fixed at the discretion of the Commission.
Step III: Candidates for each State/UT will be finally selected based on their performance in Paper-I, subject to their meeting basic qualifying standards fixed in Paper-II.

Important Points to Remember

Point 1: Paper-I will consist of Objective Type- Multiple choice questions only.
Point 2:There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.
Point 3: Paper-II will be descriptive in which the candidate will be required to write short essay/letter in English or any language included in the 8th schedule of the Constitution.

2. Hemant Bhargava appointed as LIC's MD


  • The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved the appointed of Hemant Bhargava as Managing Director (MD)of Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India.
  • Prior to this, he is LIC's zonal manager, Delhi.
  • He has been appointed till July 31, 2019
  • The insurance corporation can have four MDs, apart from the Chairman, as part of its top management.

3. Ananth Kumar inaugurates Orientation Programme for launching of 1000 PMBJKs


  • The union Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Ananth Kumar has inaugurated orientation programme for launching of one thousand Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras in New Delhi.
  • The workshop was targeted to educate and channelize youth to synergize their efforts for taking ahead the mission to open three thousand kendras by March 2017.
  • Representatives from 24 States and 106 districts from across the country attended the programme.
  • These Janaushadhi Kendras will provide affordable quality medicine to all citizens.

4. Haryana: CM Manohar Lal lays foundation stones of 21 govt colleges


  • The chief minister of Haryana Manohar Lal has laid the foundation stones of 21 government colleges to be set up in 13 districts of the state from Chandigarh through video conferencing.
  • The government has made provision of 276 crore rupees for these colleges.
  • Haryana Government is to exploring the possibility to introduce two courses of skill development in each college so that students could learn skills before they pass out of the college.

 5. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi inaugurates 2nd edition of 'Hunar Haat' in New Delhi


  • Today, the union Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has inaugurated the second edition of 'Hunar Haat' in New Delhi
  • The ‘Haat’ will encourage, promote and provide national and international market to master artisans and craftsmen belonging to minority communities.
  • The theme is 'Crafts Aur Cuisine Ka Sangam' and remain open till 26th of this month
  • The Hunar Haat is unique in the sense that it is show cassing crafts and traditional cuisines brought from different parts of the country.
  • 100 artisans and 30 culinary experts from about 24 states and UTs are participating at about 130 stalls in it.

6. Sudarsan Pattnaik creates Guinness World Record by creating 48.8 feet tall sand castle


  • Sand artist ‘Sudarsan Pattnaik’ has created a ‘Guinness World Record’ by creating a 48.8 feet tall sand castle at Puri beach in Odisha in four days.
  • The previous record holder is an American who completed his art of 45.10 feet in seven days.
  • The sculpture was built with a message of world peace and featured sculptures of Mahatma Gandhi, Gautama Buddha and Nelson Mandela.
  • The castle will be exhibited on the Puri beach for two more days.

7. India successfully test-fired home-grown AAD interceptor missile

 
  • Today, India successfully test-fired its home-grown Advanced Air Defence (AAD) interceptor missile from launching complex-IV of Dhamara Abdul Kalam defence base off Odisha coast.
  • The interceptor is a 7.5-metre-long single stage solid rocket propelled guided missile equipped with a navigation system, a hi-tech computer and an electro-mechanical activator would intercept a target, mimicking an incoming enemy missile, mid-air.
  • The Advanced Air Defence interceptor will destroy the incoming missile in the endo-atmospheric region at a low altitude of less than 30 kilometres.

8. Official mascot of FIFA U-17 World Cup 'Kheleao' unveiled


  • The official mascot of the tournament 'Kheleao' was unveiled in a ceremony at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi.
  • A clouded leopard called Kheleao was introduced by Sports Minister Vijay Goel and All India Football Federation President Praful Patel.
  • The clouded leopard is an endangered wild cat whose habitat extends from the Himalayan foothills to mainland Southeast Asia.
  • Kheleao will participate in numerous activities in the run-up to the first-ever FIFA tournament to be hosted by India.

  • FIFA Under-17 World Cup India 2017will be played from October 06th to 28th 2017.

9. India storms into final of Blind T20 World Cup Cricket tournament


  • India entered the final of the Blind Twenty20 World Cup Cricket tournament, defeating Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in the first semi-final in Bengaluru.
  • In reply to Island nation's score of 174 in 19.2 overs, India went past the target in 13 overs without any loss of wickets.
  • Prakash scored unbeaten 115 for India.
  • Now, Defending champions India reached the final for the second time.

10. I&B Team win inter-ministry Hockey tournament 2016-17


  • The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) Hockey Team has won the inter-ministry Hockey tournament 2016-17 at the Central Secretariat Ground Vinay Marg, New Delhi.
  • I&B Team Defeated Ministry of Health by three goals.
  • All the Ministry teams participated in the race for the cup.
  • Most entertaining player Chandan Singh was declared “Player of the match”.
